Changelog

Documentation scope: Guild 0.1.x pre-release builds. The exact public release version will be confirmed in the changelog before Theme Store publication.

This changelog records merchant-facing Guild releases. It does not mirror day-to-day development work, internal architecture changes, or repository task history.

0.1.0 - pre-release

Guild 0.1.0 is the current pre-release build family. The exact first public version will be confirmed after final Shopify upload, storefront QA, documentation build, and release-package validation.

Storefront setup

  • Added a flexible section and block system for visually led product brands, with Home/decor as the first public demo direction.
  • Added Header and Footer composition, mobile navigation, search, account, cart, localization utilities, and optional accessibility controls.
  • Added optional Header background blur for translucent Header backgrounds, available when Use background is enabled and Background opacity is below 100%.
  • Refined Header background blur so the shared blur token is applied to the actual Header color surface, including Compact Header, with WebKit backdrop-filter support.
  • Simplified Header/Footer border controls so Extend border full width is hidden whenever the active background already spans full width. Footer and Compact Footer now expose the shared boxed-mode border controls, and Footer Advanced options are limited to controls that are meaningful for the global footer.
  • Simplified Follow on Shop ownership: the Shop link block now directly controls whether the native Shopify action is present, without a second Footer-level visibility toggle.
  • Updated Header account access to always use Shopify's account component with a default customer account menu and a shared fallback when the configurable Account block is removed.
  • Expanded Main menu mega-menu controls with dedicated groups for generated mega-menu headings, nested links, View-all actions, navigation-column gap, and balanced maximum-column distribution. Dropdown style remains the presentation switch, while Mega menu panel and Custom mega menu content keep independent styling. Desktop More overflow shows the underlying Shopify navigation tree rather than duplicating promotional mega-menu content.
  • Added product, collection, search, cart, blog, article, page, contact, password, 404, list collections, and issued gift card experiences.
  • Added prepared Rich content presets for common merchant jobs, including Store highlights, Testimonials, Gallery, Team, Trust and reassurance, Press coverage, Product specifications, Announcement bar, and Popular links.
  • Standardized merchant-facing text appearance controls so Text style owns Default, Muted, Italic, and Muted italic presentation, while Font weight independently offers Default, Light, Regular, Medium, Semi bold, Bold, and Extra bold. Existing Body/Heading role selectors are labeled Typography.
  • Refined the Navigation block with layout controls that stay available with or without headings, optional content-driven column widths, block-level Margin, an always-available link Font size, and a consolidated Headings group with Show headings, Link column headings, Heading/Body Typography, heading Font size, Uppercase, Heading margin, and optional heading dividers. Multi-column navigation uses the same grouped column scaffold whether headings are shown or hidden. Columns now acts as a maximum, so menus with fewer rendered groups do not reserve empty grid tracks. Column alignment controls column-group placement independently from Text alignment inside the columns. Equal column widths is hidden for a single-column layout, while Heading margin and Divider margin default to Half.
  • Simplified flexible content controls: generic Tags uses the normal Heading block instead of owning a second heading setting, Quote adds Margin above source, and Logo list removes the unreliable Match logo heights mode while retaining its standard grid/slideshow sizing and alignment controls.

Commerce and discovery

  • Added a Brands source to Header Search suggestions. Brand suggestions are deduplicated from matching Shopify Product vendors, filtered against the entered term, and link through Shopify's native vendor route without adding another predictive-search request.

  • Extended Predictive Search composition with context-aware Search visibility group conditions for any results, Product results, or configured Search suggestions; result-aware Search columns now collapse when empty, the fixed Products heading is removed in favor of normal Heading blocks, and zero-result queries suppress the visual panel while preserving the accessibility announcement.

  • Refined the default Product list preset to start from the same Collection-style grid and card composition used by the Collection page, including a four-column desktop grid, stacked mobile cards, Collection-style regular Product items, and a Wide two-column Featured Product card with 50% media width.

  • Added product and collection cards, featured collections, catalog routes, Shop the look, related products, complementary products, recently viewed products, blog cards, and search result cards. Product list can also use a hand-picked Selected products source, while Collection source can begin from a merchant-selected product position with Start with product. Search Product cards use the same shipped card composition and stacked mobile defaults as Collection Product cards.

  • Added a shared boxed-card Border radius control across Product, Collection, Blog/Search result, generic/custom, pickup-location, and Logo card items, with Default, Media, and None options. Existing cards keep Default styling; Logo card radius remains independent from the logo image radius.

  • Added Product page controls for media, variants, quantity, purchase controls, inventory, product details, disclosures, size guidance, delivery information, and back-in-stock requests. Product price supports mixed stacked/inline supporting details, keeps sale percentage paired with the previous price, and provides editor-only sale/unit-price previews when the selected product lacks those states. Purchase controls can hide the visible quantity input for button-only layouts while preserving the selected variant quantity rules.

  • Refined Purchase controls so merchants can hide the quantity input on mobile without changing quantity submission, stock limits, min/max/step rules, or validation. Routine stock, in-cart, and quantity-rule hints no longer consume Purchase controls layout space; visible stock information belongs in Product inventory, while actionable purchase errors remain visible.

  • Refined Cart line-item details so unit prices sit with supporting details instead of below the commerce controls.

  • Added opt-in variant-aware Product shipping. Merchants can read a selected-variant metafield first, retain a product-metafield fallback, and update the visible delivery copy after variant selection without generated delivery-date promises.

  • Added Shopify XR as a standard Button action for products with 3D models. Merchants keep full control of the normal Button label, icon, and appearance, including the new 3D model icon; the storefront action follows Shopify device support and the active Product gallery model.

  • Added Collection and Search filters, active filters, price and Color filter presentation, result counts, sorting where supported, pagination, Load more, and guarded Infinite scroll with native fallbacks. Clearing all Collection filters now restores the full available-filter list immediately when inactive values are hidden. Collection and Search active filters now share button markup plus optional filter-name and result-count display settings.

  • Refined Collection sorting with a default-on Show borders on mobile control for Bottom and Top and bottom borders. Sticky sorting now respects the active sticky Header/Main menu offset instead of overlapping it.

  • Refined sticky Collection and Search filters with popup-style Maximum width, Padding, and Color scheme controls. When a sticky filter is the only rendered content in a boxed contextual Column, Guild removes the empty box from page flow while retaining the filter drawer.

  • Extended the shared accordion edge contract to Collection/Search filters with independent top and bottom border controls. Bottom-edge spacing now subtracts one accordion padding unit from the Accordion root margin instead of shifting the final panel.

  • Expanded Header Main search with configurable Shopify Predictive search. Merchants can enable or disable predictive results, cap the predictive panel with Maximum width, compose independently styled Search suggestions blocks for suggested searches, Collections, Brands, and Content, arrange predictive content with Search Row/Column blocks and Search visibility group, use normal Heading/Buttons blocks for supporting content and Search-results actions, and add, move, or remove the dedicated Predictive results list. Predictive Product results now render the configured restricted Product item on Shopify's server with the real Product context instead of rebuilding Product subblocks in JavaScript.

  • Refined Predictive Search presentation with a 1-4 Columns range aligned to the fixed four-Product result limit, a four-card Theme Editor preview, runtime-aware smoke coverage, and lazy desktop result scrolling that uses only the remaining viewport space after Search interaction.

  • Extended shared Wide card items with Media width type: retain the existing percentage width or choose a fixed 96-480px width with a responsive 75% safety cap. Product descriptions in Product-item cards also support Advanced > Display mode so descriptions can be limited to Stacked or Wide responsive layouts. Wide Purchase controls use intrinsic flex sizing so short button labels are less likely to wrap while longer translations remain breakable.

  • Unified whole-block responsive visibility around Advanced > Display mode for Collection/Search Active filters and Breadcrumbs. Active filters retain Sticky only as their one context-specific extension, while Search result-state Result visibility remains a separate conditional behavior.

  • Added Quick view as a configurable full Product surface that shares Product blocks, media, variants, quantity rules, selling plans, purchase controls, Product details, and supported app-block ownership with Product spotlight. The global Quick view section now controls whether eligible View options actions open the dialog or continue to the product page, while full-page-only Product transitions retain a safe Product-page fallback.

  • Added Product details popup for Product-page-only informational dialogs composed from the Product spotlight block pool without Apps or Purchase controls, including pickup availability, back-in-stock forms, Product details, metafields, prices, badges, and galleries. Standard Product layout blocks remain available with their normal nested options, and the first top-level Product gallery can use Popup leading media without moving galleries out of nested layouts.

  • Added Cart page and optional Slide-out cart compositions with native cart and checkout fallbacks.

  • Refined Product gallery composition with visible thumbnail-count limits and +x remainder indicators, highlighted-first-media Top/Start/End desktop layouts, 50-75% highlighted media width, Grid gap/radius normalization, a gallery-level full-screen magnifier, shared Controls, and configurable control background opacity. Below-positioned thumbnails continue to force overlay pagination, full-screen gallery controls remain configurable even when Slideshow arrows are hidden, and Quick view suppresses the nested full-screen gallery/magnifier while retaining its own Product gallery radius settings.

  • Added Product-specific Accordion and Tabs composition for Product spotlight and Quick view layouts, including conditional Product visibility for volume pricing, disclosures, pickup availability, shipping information, Product description, Related-product availability, Complementary-product availability, Recently viewed-product availability, and Product metafield has a value, plus empty-parent suppression when no conditional item is available. Recommendation-driven accordion items stay hidden until Shopify confirms matching recommendations. Product list can also be placed directly in Product spotlight-family surfaces and inside Product Column, Box, and Accordion item shells, enabling compact Related or Complementary merchandising such as "Pairs well with" without a separate renderer.

  • Refined Product cards and purchase controls with optional Featured first-card composition, safe fallback when Featured is hidden, Plus icon support for Add to cart / Pre-order / View options, and consistent Product Media-first / Product Footer-last fixed-slot serialization. Product media can now use the second product image as the primary card image and optionally reveal the original primary image on hover; one-image products remain unchanged. Default second-image hover now stays a plain fade, while Hover zoom second image no longer inherits the list-level Enlarge media interaction. Product media also has an opt-in Blend image with background treatment for white-background packshots; video and other media types are unaffected.

  • Added compact 240/480/640px responsive image candidates to Product-card and Product-media image ladders, including variant-image payloads, for smaller nested card slots.

  • Refined Product variants and PDP editing with configurable Small/Medium/Large/Custom swatch sizes, image-only padding plus configurable Aspect ratio for Variant images, visual Swatches fallback from Shopify swatch data to matching variant imagery and then text, plain text Boxes, selected option values only for groups with a real visual source, optional fine-pointer-hover/keyboard-focus value preview that does not change Product selection, optional muted styling for only the selected value, real-media-only Product gallery previews when a product already has media, explicit Purchase controls ownership for product-card actions, and an independently configurable sticky-purchase media Aspect ratio while keeping price immediately before its purchase controls.

  • Added optional Purchase controls success feedback for successful Add to cart actions: merchant-enabled confetti and a lightweight product-thumbnail fly-to-cart animation. Confetti is bundled locally and lazy-loaded only when enabled. Fly-to-cart runs only while a real Cart trigger is visible in the viewport; when the Cart icon is offscreen or hidden, Add to cart completes normally without the animation. Both effects respect reduced-motion preferences.

  • Added bounded Row - product item and Column - product item composition inside Product item and Featured product item cards, with the same Product-item child scope and shared Equalize columns behavior as other contextual Row layouts.

  • Hardened Product list source ownership so Product source is authoritative even when stale values remain in the inactive Collection or Selected products picker; an empty Selected products source now stays empty instead of falling back to Collection.

  • Refined Product price so tax-inclusive disclosure appears on full Product surfaces when Shopify reports taxes included, while repeated Tax included. text is suppressed on product cards. Product price now uses independent Text style and Font weight controls, with Default weight following the main body weight and no separate Price weight setting.

  • Refined Product metafields so list-valued metafields render as comma-separated inline values rather than nested lists, and new Product metafields blocks start with Item appearance: Default.

  • Refined Quick view beside-content media so the gallery follows the popup shell radius and the configured media width cannot exceed 50% of the popup on desktop/tablet.

Content, forms, and utilities

  • Expanded standalone Social media links with optional profile labels, label-only mode, Button/Text link appearance, shared text-link typography/color controls, and block Margin controls while keeping icon-only buttons as the default.

  • Extended standalone Social media links with per-block All available/Selected profile filtering and optional platform-brand icon colors for Text link presentation, without adding social-brand rules to the main stylesheet.

  • Fixed standalone Social media links Margin ownership so Default, None, Half, Content, Offset, Section, Custom, and Negative spacing affect the complete block consistently; added the same shared Margin control to inline Success message blocks.

  • Normalized oversized YouTube, Tumblr, and Vimeo social glyphs and corrected the Snapchat glyph while leaving the other platform icons unchanged.

  • Refined desktop wide-card footer button sizing so short labels keep their intrinsic one-line width while long labels can wrap within the constrained footer area, improving resilience for longer storefront languages without squeezing normal CTAs.

  • Added Item spacing: None to supported utility-list controls. It removes vertical row spacing without collapsing horizontal inline spacing, and on surfaces with Item appearance it applies only to Default appearance.

  • Refined Keep items on one line so it applies on desktop only; mobile utility lists wrap normally instead of forcing long rows beyond the available width.

  • Added responsive Custom font-size protection for Text blocks: custom desktop sizes are capped to the Heading 2 scale on mobile rather than requiring a second mobile size setting.

  • Added Show only when posts are available to Blog posts so an empty dynamic source can hide the complete live section while remaining editable in the Theme Editor.

  • Added inline Vertical alignment to supported utility-list blocks, independent from horizontal Alignment. Equal column widths remains available only for Inline + Space between, where equal flex columns are meaningful. Top, Center, and Bottom reuse the existing flex alignment behavior; Center remains the default so existing layouts do not change.

  • Added a configurable Article page that reuses the shared Article title, excerpt, details, tags, media, and action blocks used by Blog cards. Article pages can use contextual Row - article, Column - article, and Box - article layouts, the full Rich content section-setting shell, Shopify comments, and supported app blocks. The main Article section is available only on Article templates.

  • Added repeatable Article detail items for Date, Author, Reading time, or Summary, including Published or Updated dates, Shopify author account images, optional author titles, and automatic linked heading navigation.

  • Added Article buttons for current blog, previous/next article, Article details, and Author homepage destinations, including [title] replacement for neighboring article labels.

  • Added Blog post list sources for Blog, Selected articles, and Related articles, with source-independent Featured item styling, duplicate-safe related-post selection, and shared Pagination ownership.

  • Added a generic Share current page Button action with native device sharing, canonical-URL copy fallback, and accessible status feedback.

  • Updated the default Page template to render the current Shopify page title and body through Content source while retaining Rich content layout controls.

  • Added Hero slideshow, Media with content, Columns, Boxed content, Layered content, Image hotspots, Google map, Before and after, FAQ accordion, Tabbed content, Countdown banner, Breadcrumbs, Spacer, Popup, and Back-to-top sections. Hero Leading media can optionally use a fixed-media effect for images, placeholders, second images, supported hosted video, and external YouTube/Vimeo playback on non-Swiper banners, while bullet pagination can use a compact background surface when Shadow is None.

  • Added independent top and bottom outer-border controls for one-column Default accordions, with compact edge spacing that preserves summary and toggle alignment.

  • Added Shopify-native Contact and Newsletter form compositions, plus a standalone Search box preset. Manually opened Newsletter popups defer their leading image until the popup is opened, avoiding unnecessary image transfer during the initial page load.

  • Added Custom HTML and Custom Liquid insertion points for trusted advanced content that cannot be created with built-in settings.

  • Refined Content list mobile behavior so Inline lists configured as Slideshow remain static when only one item is rendered.

  • Added Equal column widths to supported utility-list blocks when Alignment is Space between, allowing inline items to divide the available width evenly without changing existing layouts by default.

  • Added a Collection list block that renders selected or all collection titles through the Content-list presentation system, including layout, separators, typography, Text style, Font weight, and Link/Content color controls. The existing Button/Text link presentation is now named Collection links.

  • Extended Collection list with an Advanced Hover media handle that reuses each collection's assigned image to update a matching Media block on hover or keyboard focus; incoming hover media is now staged and revealed only after loading so the existing Media remains visible during the swap, and collections without an image are ignored.

  • Extended Background layer with the shared scroll-reveal behavior, direction-aware slide and zoom reveal styles, and a configurable reveal Delay while preserving configured layer transforms.

  • Improved shared card-list accessibility and responsive media behavior across Product, Collection, Blog, and generic Card lists, including valid ARIA list ownership, explicit decorative image alt fallbacks, more accurate lazy-image sizing in nested layouts, and corrected heading/country-picker semantics.

  • Fixed Article tag links so real tags use the owning Blog archive even when an Article card is rendered outside that Blog, and aligned Success message status color across both the icon and message text.

  • Added a focused Shopify-issued Gift card page with balance, redemption code, Copy, Print, QR, Apple Wallet when available, and optional recipient, message, and status details. App blocks are not supported on this page.

  • Unified conditional Product composition so Product visibility group, Accordion item - product, and Tab item - product can use the same availability conditions for Volume pricing, Product disclosures, Product pickup, Related products, Complementary products, Recently viewed products, Shipping info, Product description, and Product metafield has a value. Recommendation-driven conditions update after asynchronous Product-list resolution. Product price also keeps the translated From label at the supporting text size when Smaller decimals is enabled.

  • Added independent Row spacing for supported inline utility lists so wrapped-row spacing can be tuned without changing horizontal Item spacing; stacked/default lists keep the existing Item spacing behavior.

  • Split Product gallery boxed styling into Boxed mode for main product media and Boxed mode for thumbnails, with thumbnail controls available only for Slideshow when thumbnails are enabled. Existing main-media boxed settings remain backward-compatible.

  • Extended Product Variants with Boxes, visual-only Show selected option value, and optional fine-pointer-hover/keyboard-focus value preview. Selected-value text is suppressed for all-text Color groups, Dropdowns, Boxes, hidden option labels, and text-box fallback option groups so labels are not duplicated.

  • Added Light (300) to the shared merchant Font weight family, including price typography surfaces that previously exposed only Regular through Extra bold.

  • Unified automatic title and heading-like typography controls so Font weight and Uppercase remain available with both Heading and Body typography while Text style remains Body-only. Generated Mega menu headings and Footer Navigation headings now expose the same appearance model, and Content source can style an imported Page title with Typography, Text style, Font weight, Font size, Uppercase, and alignment without changing its H1/H2 semantic role.

  • Refined Product metafield editing so authored child presets are named Metafield, the Label field hides when Show label is disabled, and generic Product metafield has a value visibility uses its own namespace/key fields instead of inheriting Shipping info defaults.

Theme editor and localization

  • Kept Button alignment available for Buttons blocks that use Show in header, so merchants can still control the retained mobile button-group alignment while desktop header placement remains header-owned.
  • Added focused block pickers for system and commerce sections so merchants see relevant composition choices in each context. Search visibility groups and bounded Box blocks can align themselves at the start, center, or end without changing nested content alignment.
  • Simplified generic Card editing: main content blocks sit directly under Card, Card media keeps a bounded nested overlay-content set, and the fixed Card footer accepts the same content choices as Card and Custom card. Its default action uses Buttons > Button. Boxed mode controls now sit next to the settings they reveal, and Media position stays inside the Boxed mode group.
  • Fixed Article thumb and Collection thumb rendering so card images and overlay content remain inside the existing .l-card media layer after the merchant-facing block rename.
  • Added Start, Center, and End labels for direction-aware alignment while preserving the underlying saved setting values.
  • Added direction-aware Header, Pagination, Popup, Tabs, Datepicker, and Product gallery behavior for RTL storefronts.
  • Added concise dynamic status announcements for Quick view and Predictive search, plus keyboard and focus safeguards for dynamic interfaces and blocking popups.
  • Consolidated Sign in with Shop and Follow on Shop into one Shop link block, added icon/label display modes to Content-list Social media links, and moved the optional Gift card balance heading into the balance block itself.
  • Consolidated Product quantity and checkout controls, Cart price/quantity/remove controls, line details and discounts, media/title controls, and accelerated checkout into fewer merchant-facing owners while retaining Shopify-native forms, wallet buttons, responsive Remove actions, and AJAX updates.
  • Added 45% and 55% Column widths and moved media-only stretch controls under Advanced options.
  • Refined positive Custom margin, Custom mobile margin, and boxed Custom bottom spacing controls to support exact quarter-step spacing increments through the Theme Editor.
  • Added Letter spacing controls to shared tag and badge groups, and hide new-tab controls until a direct link or navigation source is configured.
  • Expanded Hero Aside content width to 20%-90%, added an Aside-only mobile media-hiding control across generic, Collection, and Article Hero slides, and separated generic Heading controls into Heading and conditional Subheading groups. Supported image blocks now use an opt-in Use separate mobile image disclosure before showing Mobile image; Hero Leading media keeps its desktop primary/second-image composition when the separate mobile image is not enabled.
  • Synchronized Cart page and Slide-out cart summary defaults and corrected the nested Cart block configuration.
  • Simplified Hero slideshow editing by keeping generic Leading media and Background as fixed slots while placing slide content blocks directly under Slide. Collection and Article slides manage their resource-image overlay settings directly on the parent slide, without empty media-holder blocks or storefront markup changes.
  • Added Advanced > Show slide to Collection and Article Hero slides. Collection slides can react to the current collection image and description; Article slides can react to the article image and excerpt. These conditions affect only storefront output, while the Theme Editor keeps the configured slide visible for preview and editing. Resource slides hidden by the condition no longer create empty slideshow states or controls, and content-only fallback prevents an empty media-height hero when Always is used without resource media or configured slide background content.
  • Refined image/media overlays to select their overlay color from existing theme color schemes while keeping opacity independent. Product description and Collection description now expose the shared Content maximum width control, and the default global content width is 1520px.
  • Added a Muted text style for configurable Text link buttons, clarified Background versus Background layer naming, and kept section edge-alignment controls available for Default and Full width backgrounds.
  • Refined Heading and Countup typography controls: uppercase Body-style headings can adjust Letter spacing, while Countup can use Heading or Body typography, the shared Font size scale, Uppercase, and existing underline/highlight styling. Trivial Countup values 0 and 1 display immediately instead of animating.
  • Refined Background layer, Background icon, Ticker list, and Clickable area editing with Advanced disclosure for responsive Display mode, custom Layer order, and transforms. Layer order can override the natural block stacking from -10 to 10 while 0 keeps block-order behavior; background offsets use a signed 2% grid with a neutral 0%, positioning remains available at full/oversized dimensions, and Clickable area labels expose conditional styling plus horizontal/vertical alignment while keeping a visible non-interactive outline in the Theme Editor.
  • Extended every Reveal content on scroll control with a shared Reveal style selector and configurable Delay up to 2000ms. Section-level card reveals keep their per-card behavior, while Hero slide body settings can override the section-level reveal style and delay.
  • Refined Before and after so horizontal labels can sit at the Top or Bottom, a single configured image falls back to normal media, and media-only Column stretch/alignment works with Before and after as well as regular Media.
  • Standardized shared Column Width ordering and added the 65% option to Header mega panels.
  • Extended section-level and existing Background utility Display mode with Hide on desktop and Hide on mobile alongside Default, Mobile only, and Desktop only, preserving the theme's established 760px mobile and 1000px desktop utility breakpoints.
  • Added section-level Display mode under shared Advanced options so supported sections can use responsive visibility without custom CSS; shared RTE-style sections use one renderer mapping, while custom outer-wrapper sections hide their complete owned UI consistently.
  • Added block-level Display mode under Advanced > Show advanced options for supported Heading, Row, Column, Box, Media, Divider, Icon, Quote, and Star rating blocks, including the matching contextual layout/media variants. Blocks reuse the same Default, Mobile only, Desktop only, Hide on desktop, and Hide on mobile breakpoint behavior as the existing section controls.
  • Expanded Gift card composition so Box - gift card can contain Row - gift card directly.

Documentation and support

  • Added a task-focused Why content is missing guide that consolidates Shopify source-data, preview-context, visibility, recommendation, localization, metafield, search, popup, and app prerequisites before merchants change theme code.
  • Synchronized the public editor workflow with the current Newsletter popup section name and refreshed the public AI-context maintenance date.
  • Added getting-started, first-hour setup, theme editor workflow, section guides, template guidance, troubleshooting, privacy/external-service guidance, update guidance, support policy, contact preparation, and public AI context.
  • Added an AI-readable documentation index and automated parity checks for the published llms.txt copy.

Before publishing

Before using a pre-release build on a live storefront:

  • review the current Getting started and Updating Guild guides;
  • test Product, Collection, Search, Cart, forms, apps, mobile layouts, accessibility interactions, and RTL where used;
  • replace all sample content, addresses, links, images, products, collections, menus, and policy references;
  • keep the previous theme available as a rollback copy.

Release-note policy

Future public entries should focus on changes merchants can see or need to review:

  • new or changed settings, sections, blocks, templates, and workflows;
  • bug fixes that affect storefront behavior or theme editor setup;
  • manual update steps for apps, custom code, media, product forms, cart, search, filters, navigation, localization, or privacy-sensitive integrations;
  • known merchant-facing limitations that materially affect setup.

Release notes must not promise legal compliance, accessibility certification, guaranteed performance, guaranteed app compatibility, Shopify approval, or a fixed support-resolution time.
